Mirna Abiad-Boyadjian completed her studies in literary creation, art history, and screenwriting at UQAM, where she obtained a master’s degree in art history. In 2016, she began but did not complete a dissertation in aesthetics at Université Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis on hope in times of war in contemporary art in Lebanon and the Lebanese diaspora. Recognizing that the necessary experimental and literary aspect of her project was difficult to express within the field of art history, she chose to pursue a doctorate in art studies and practices at UQAM. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and is co-editing an issue of Merle, cahier sur les mots et les gestes.
