Biography

Malin Norberg (b. 1989) lives and works in Stockholm and holds an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art (2022). Her sculptures are influenced by symbolism and aesthetics from folklore, cartoons, and amusement parks-spaces where fantasy and reality merge. By transforming everyday objects and distorting their functions, Norberg explores power structures and societal norms, using anthropomorphism to question the boundaries between subject and object. Wood plays a central role in her practice, allowing for an intuitive, exploratory process in which material and thought interact through composition, carving, and sanding.
