Biography

Working in sculpture and installation, Maddie McNeely probes how the objects we live with, the materials we source, and the spaces we occupy impact individual and collective well-being. Working with wood as a primary material, she is interested in forests as a site of both deep ecology and industry. She holds a BFA from NSCAD University and is a current MFA student in sculpture at Concordia University. She splits her time between Montréal and her family’s home in the Eastern Townships, where she is learning to grow food and become a tree.
