Biography

Anna Hawkins is an artist who works primarily in moving image and installation; she is interested in the ways that images, gestures and language are circulated and transformed online and the impacts of technology on the intimate spheres of daily life. Her works have recently been exhibited and screened at transmediale (Berlin), Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, the Istanbul International Experimental Film Festival, Dazibao (Montréal), Images Festival (Toronto), and the Art Gallery of Alberta(Edmonton). She is currently an associate professor in studio arts at MacEwan Universityon Treaty 6 Territory ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (Amiskwacîwâskahikan), Edmonton.
