The publication Prima Materia accompanies Hannah Rowan’s show of the same name at Assembly Point (2019), which explores the interconnecting systems that speculate on the origins and many shifting states of water. The work sits within Rowan’s broader interest in the relationship between the epic span of geological time within natural processes and the fast paced, technology-driven frenetic activity of humans.
