Phony is an interactive CD-ROM which explores the history and culture of the telephone in order to reflect upon contemporary communications technologies. It expands upon a multi-sited public art exhibition produced by Susan Schuppli for the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in 2001. Media theorist, Tess Takahashi, further develops the work in ideas presented in Phony through her audio analysis.
