This catalogue-essay is the culmination of two symposia held in 2000 and 2001 at La Gabelle, on the banks of the St. Maurice River in the Mauricie region. Twelve sculptors presented their ecological vision of a world undergoing profound transformation. Each artist, in their own way, attempts to create a connection between landscape, imagination, and reflection. The works stimulate reflection on the original sources of nature, which are an integral part of our collective unconscious.
