At the time of the arrival of Europeans, the Montreal archipelago and the Laurentian Valley were inhabited by an aboriginal people distinct from their neighbors both in terms of their cultural identity and their particular history. This people, whose self-name we don't know and whom archaeologists today refer to as the St. Lawrence Iroquoians, vanished between Cartier's visits and Champlain's arrival. This presentation reopens a forgotten archival file and reopens the investigation into this mysterious disappearance.
