Colwyn Griffith : Empire Projects

Colwyn Griffith produces large-scale color photographs that question the ethics of western consumption and empire. He uses candy and junk foods to construct elaborate reproductions of icons of excess such as Graceland and Saudi Arabia s Ministry of Oil. For several years, much of Griffith s practice has employed the use of processed food to investigate notions of landscape, tourism, consumption and history.
