Kama Sokolnicka

Kama works on the image as a memory function, on the interaction linking ambivalence and disappointment to the typology of a place or territory. Her work focuses on the time difference as a marker of the parallel between the radical acceleration of economic exchanges and high-speed travel. From her East-European perspective, and the shifted point of view it induces, comes an ironic analysis of the role of culture in shaping identity. (Publisher's website)
