This catalog accompanies the exhibition Anne Ramsden - the collection and everyday life, designed and produced by Marie Perrault, produced by the Rimouski Regional Museum.
In The Collection and the Daily, Anne Ramsden appropriates and mixes the codes of representation in force in advertising, the media and museums then combines them with her own tools. The artist isolates everyday objects, the movement generated by their repetitive use or daily scenes from various cultures taken from the Web and modifies them by transforming their mode of presentation. By transposing and accumulating these modified objects in the context of the exhibition, Anne Ramsden constructs a visual language and a social space where the modalities of our view of everyday life are put under observation.
