Maude Johnson, our guest author

We are delighted to welcome Maude Johnson to the center as a guest writer!

She will be meeting with our residents to gather their stories and write a piece chronicling their experiences during the summer 2026 residency. You’ll then have the chance to read her writings on our website!

Maude Johnson is an author, curator and art consultant. Originally from Rimouski, she lives between the mountains and ocean of British Columbia on the unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) traditional territory. Her writing and curatorial projects focus on performativepractices, material explorations, and the interconnections between nature and culture. Land proximity contributes to shaping her approach to the visual arts, influencing her writing and curatorial practice, as well as her engagement with materiality.

Feel free to say hello to her at our next open studios!
