New edition of the triennial event at Est-Nord-Est

This summer, Est-Nord-Est résidence d’artistes will hold its next triennial event entitled Fabriquer l’improbable / To Make the Improbable, curated by Dominique Allard and Véronique Leblanc. For the occasion, the participating artists will benefit from a two months residency at Est-Nord-Est during which they will develop and produce a work to be exhibited at the event.

To Make the Improbable – the project

To Make the Improbable brings together ten artists whose works arouse astonishment, wonder and fascination through various strategies such as: unusual meeting between an art work and a place, the exploration of imperceptible phenomena, the heterogeneous conjunction of materials and / or objects, the setting in motion of inanimate elements and the ingenious creation of unlikely mechanisms and devices of a poetic nature. Therefore, “to make the improbable” is understood here as the many possibilities that can generate unrestricted and utopian ways of apprehending and understanding the world, producing a gap with what is familiar. Hence, this project approaches these “improbable horizons of thought” as proposals of potential, virtual, possible worlds.
